Metaforms has secured $9 million in Series A funding to expand its artificial intelligence platform that automates market research workflows for agencies worldwide. The round was led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Together Fund, bringing the company’s total funding above $10 million.
The startup addresses operational constraints in the market research industry by deploying AI agents that handle repetitive tasks such as survey programming, data validation, and vendor coordination. Founded in 2022 by Akshat Tyagi and Arjun S, the platform integrates with existing research systems rather than replacing human expertise.
Automating Research Operations
Research agencies face significant bandwidth limitations when managing complex studies across multiple markets. Traditional workflows require manual survey coding, coordination with numerous panel providers, and extensive validation processes that consume substantial time and resources.
Metaforms’ AI agents integrate directly into agency systems to handle these operational tasks. The platform converts questionnaires into survey code, identifies data anomalies, manages panel vendor relationships, and monitors quota fulfillment across international studies. This approach allows research teams to increase project capacity without expanding headcount.
Since launching commercially six months ago, the platform has partnered with four of the world’s top twenty research agencies, including Strat7. The system currently processes more than 1,000 surveys monthly for clients ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies.
Market Expansion and Growth Metrics
Customer adoption has demonstrated strong retention patterns, with every client who initially deployed a single AI agent subsequently expanding their platform usage, resulting in a 100% expansion rate among existing customers. This metric indicates substantial value delivery within agency operations.
The fresh capital will support platform scaling, team expansion, and development of additional capabilities including automated report generation and voice-based research functionality. Metaforms plans to deepen integrations with industry-standard tools such as Decipher, SPSS, and Confirmit.
“Our goal is simple: help great research teams spend less time firefighting and more time doing the work that actually matters” said Akshat Tyagi, co-founder and CEO of Metaforms. The company targets processing over 100,000 surveys annually while making professional research accessible to a broader range of businesses.
Industry Impact and Accessibility
By reducing operational overhead and turnaround times, the platform enables agencies to serve clients they might previously decline due to capacity constraints. This includes early-stage startups seeking initial market validation and multinational corporations running large-scale tracking studies.
The founders experienced these access limitations firsthand when seeking professional research services for their previous ventures. Agencies lacked bandwidth to serve smaller clients despite existing demand, highlighting systemic operational inefficiencies within the $130 billion global market research industry.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Akshat and Arjun as they reimagine what a market research agency could look like in an AI-first world” said Shailendra Singh, Managing Director at Peak XV Partners. The investment firm cited the company’s rapid scaling and partnerships with major global research agencies as key factors in their investment decision.
Technology and Integration Strategy
The platform’s AI agents currently focus on survey programming, data processing, and bidding management, with voice research capabilities under development. Each agent operates within existing research workflows, enhancing rather than replacing human analytical capabilities.
Metaforms plans to triple its team size and expand agent functionality to handle more complex research operations. The company’s approach emphasizes seamless integration with established industry tools and processes rather than requiring wholesale workflow changes.
“Metaforms is a breakout example of the India-to-global play in AI” noted Manav Garg, Co-founder and Managing Partner at Together Fund. The startup demonstrates how deep customer understanding combined with technical capabilities can address fundamental industry constraints.
