Irish/UK EV charging startup Go Eve is raising $3.5 million to accelerate its North American expansion following UL 2202 certification of DockChain, its patented “daisy chain” DC fast charging system.
The UL 2202 (ETL) standard clears DockChain for deployment in the U.S. and Canada. Production has already begun in Dearborn, Michigan, in partnership with Goodwill Integrated Solutions, as Go Eve moves to commercial rollout.
DockChain allows a single DC fast (Level 3) charger to power multiple charging points through a daisy-chain architecture, reducing infrastructure costs and improving driver access. By enabling more parking bays to share rapid charging, the system cuts waiting times and avoids the vehicle shuffling common at charging sites.
“Certification to North American electrical standards is a pivotal milestone for Go Eve and DockChain. DockChain rewrites the economics of DC fast charging, enabling more bays to access rapid charging from a single power source. With production now in place in the U.S., we’re moving from small deployments to scaling across North America.” ~ Hugh Sheehy, CEO of Go Eve.
Sheehy added that Go Eve is already working with major charger brands and building a distribution and installer network to meet growing demand, including partnerships with Uptime, Mid Cour, and Merlin Group, which link the company to last-mile fleet operators.
Headquartered at NovaUCD in Dublin with offices in the UK and U.S., Go Eve is a joint spin-out from University College Dublin and Imperial College London. The new funding will support growth across fleets, workplaces, and public charging environments as operators seek scalable, cost-effective DC fast charging solutions.
