German medtech startup secures financing from Companisto, Brandenburg Kapital, and BioLab Holdings to advance AI-powered 3D wound measurement.
cureVision, a Potsdam-based medical technology startup pioneering AI-supported medical imaging, has secured new funding from Companisto Business Angel Network, Brandenburg Kapital, BioLab Holdings Inc. (USA), and other co-investors. The financing will help the company further develop its AI-driven 3D wound measurement system and prepare for its U.S. market entry in 2026.
Founded by Richard Fobo, Kerstin von Diemar, and Johannes Ruopp cureVision has developed a technology that allows healthcare professionals to measure chronic and acute wounds precisely, contactlessly, and in real time. The platform combines 3D wound imaging with integrated bacterial scanning, providing clinicians with instant insights into wound size, depth, and infection indicators—critical data for accurate treatment planning and monitoring.
“Our mission is to make next-generation medical imaging available worldwide” said Richard Fobo, co-founder and CEO of cureVision. “With the support of our investors, we’re ideally positioned to scale internationally and push for FDA approval in the U.S.”
Thomas Krause, Managing Director of Brandenburg Kapital, said, “We see great potential in cureVision’s technology and look forward to supporting the next phase of growth—especially as the company scales its sales structure out of Brandenburg.”
Andreas Fakler, Investment Director at Companisto, added, “The startup and its team impress with their technological depth and clear market vision.” Meanwhile, BioLab Holdings Inc. from Phoenix, Arizona, emphasized strong U.S. demand: “We see high market potential for cureVision’s solution in the U.S. and will prepare the market entry together.”
The startup’s technology aims to save clinicians time, improve documentation quality, and enhance patient outcomes through automated wound analysis. With the new funding, cureVision plans to expand its sales operations across Europe, further develop its AI imaging platform for broader clinical use, and integrate with hospital information systems (HIS).
The company has earned multiple awards, including the Health-i Award, Novartis Digital Health Prize, Eugen Münch Prize, Bavarian Innovation Prize, and the German Health Award.
